doc-levy-in-song-be-cropI was an infantry medic with Delta 1/7 First Cavalry in Vietnam and Cambodia, ’69-’70. Decorations include the CMB, Silver Star, two Bronze Stars with V, Air Medal, Arcom. My prose and poetry have appeared in New Millennium Writings; Cutthroat; Slant; War, Literature and the Arts; CounterPunch; Off the Cuffs: Poetry By and About the Police; and Best American Erotica 2000. It is forthcoming in Mudfish, and VVA’s The Veteran. My essay “The Quiet Time” won the 2016 Syracuse University Institute for Veterans and Military Families Writing Prize, judged by Brian Turner and published in Stone Canoe.
