As a former Post-Gazette and Pittsburgh Press carrier in 1962-63, I cannot fully express my gratitude for the ongoing reports from Vietnam about the 50th anniversary of the Tet Offensive (post-gazette.com, “Dispatches From Vietnam”). It’s important to keep on reminding ourselves about the consequences (curses) of history.

There is no lesson better than actual experiences of war, however depicted by special effects. History is the only remaining remnant of how wars and conflicts affected the lives of so many men, women and children. I am grateful to your staff members Diana Nelson Jones and Nate Guidry, and management of your media outlet, for your consideration and generous work.
